About .ws Domains
Global Domains International is the sponsor and KeySystems is our backend provider for the country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) .ws extensions that represents Western Samoa.
Who can register .ws domains?
Anyone can register .ws domain names.
Registration restrictions
- Must use: 4 - 63 Characters
- Can use: Letters: a-z, Numbers: 0-9, Hyphens (except in the 1st or last characters of the domain name)
- Cannot use: Special Characters (e.g., & and #)
- IDNs: Supported
Features
- Registration length: 1-10 years
- Renewal length: 1-10 years
- Your .me domain renews on its expiration date. If auto-renew is turned on, we'll attempt renewal on its expiration date. If the first renewal attempt fails, we'll continue attempting auto-renewal multiple times until the 12th day after the domain's expiration date.
- If we cannot auto-renew the domain and you do not manually renew it by the 12th day after the expiration date, it must be redeemed with any applicable fees.
- Backorders: Not supported
- Transfers to Secureserver.net Domain Name Web Hosting: Supported
- To successfully transfer a .ws domain name to us, your current registrar must support .ws transfers out.
- We do not support the transfer in of .ws emoji domains.
- Transfers away from Secureserver.net Domain Name Web Hosting: Supported
- Transfer Lock: Supported
- To transfer away from us, your new registrar must explicitly support .ws transfers in.
- Transfers to another Secureserver.net Domain Name Web Hosting account: Supported
- Domain Privacy: Supported
- Domain Protection: Not supported
- Contact Updates: Supported
