Unlock or lock my domain
Unlock your domain before transferring it to a new registrar. Domains aren't eligible for transfer to another registrar if they're within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer, or if the domain has a 60-day transfer lock after a Change of Registrant. Locking your domain prevents transfers away from Secureserver.net Domain Name Web Hosting.
- Sign in to your Secureserver.net Domain Name Web Hosting Domain Portfolio. (Need help logging in? Find your username or password.)
- Select an individual domain to access the Domain Settings page.
- Under the Transfer section, switch the toggle to your preferred setting.
- On: The domain is currently locked and is not eligible for transfer away from Secureserver.net Domain Name Web Hosting.
- Off: The domain is currently unlocked and is eligible for transfer away from Secureserver.net Domain Name Web Hosting.
- Your changes will be saved automatically.
- Domains with Domain Protection require additional identity verification. If you've had 2-step verification (2SV) turned on for at least 24 hours, enter the code we sent via SMS, or enter the code from your authenticator app. Otherwise, enter the one-time password we sent to the email address on your Secureserver.net Domain Name Web Hosting account.
It can take up to 90 minutes for your changes to be reflected in your account.
